What Makes Pentecostal Women Wear Only Skirts?Pentecostal women wear skirts because they follow a Bible verse that says they should not dress like men. Women in Pentecostal churches often wear skirts or dresses below the knee, no makeup or jewellery, and long hair that hangs loose or is carefully arranged during worship hours. In keeping with Biblical principles, these women dress modestly in their daily lives as well.

The Pentecostal Church preaches that believers should incorporate various principles into their lifestyle and external appearance in order to communicate their faith to others and draw them closer to the Lord.

“The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment: for those who do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God,” says the passage they quote to help explain these dress norms. 22:5 (Deuteronomy).

According to this verse, women must distinguish themselves from men by the way they dress. Women should wear modest skirts or dresses, preferably at or below the knee, according to the current view.

Wearing skirts or dresses not only creates a distinction between men and women, but it also helps women avoid offending others with clothing that is excessively tight or too skimpy.
