Traditional American versions of spaghetti call for around 1/2 cup of sauce centred on top of the spaghetti, whereas authentic Italian pasta dishes call for little more than a quarter cup of red spaghetti sauce each serving. As a result, each dish will require anything from 2 to 4 ounces of spaghetti sauce.
