A 2.75 GPA falls somewhere between a B minus and a B overall. A 2.75 is much closer to a B minus than a B, because a B is a 2.7 and a B is a 3.0 GPA.

GPA is a simple method of converting the total number of letter grades received over a period of time into a single figure that can be compared to the scores of other students. For straight A’s, most schools employ an unweighted scale with a top score of 4.0. Some institutions use a weighted system in which higher-level courses, such as advanced placement, early college, and honours classes, get extra points.
