Greek yoghurt is a dairy product made with milk and a bacterial culture added to it. Whey is strained out of Greek yoghurt during the production process. This step is not included in the standard yoghurt producing procedure.

Straining the whey from Greek yoghurt offers several advantages, including less sugar, fewer carbs, and more protein than ordinary yoghurt. There are 15 to 20 grammes of protein in six ounces of Greek yoghurt. Greek yoghurt, on the other hand, can be heavy in saturated fats. As a result, buying low-fat or fat-free Greek yoghurt may be useful.

Lactose intolerant people may find Greek yoghurt simpler to digest because a lot of the lactose is eliminated during the straining process. Lactose intolerance is a disorder in which people are unable to consume dairy products due to gastrointestinal discomfort.
