When said aloud, the texting term “mhm” sounds like the mouth humming sound “mm-hmm” that someone makes when nodding and agreeing with someone else.
In texting and abbreviated Internet lingo, “mhm” is also used in a few less common ways. “Members aiding members,” “mile high music,” “married Hispanic male,” “melon head man,” and “metal heads mission” are all examples of “mhm.”
