A bunch of celery, also known as a stalk or head, usually contains eight to ten stalks. Because commercially grown celery is graded by colour, quality, and uniformity of length across the entire head, manufacturers rarely include individual stalk counts on packaging.
A medium-sized stalk of celery yields about 1/2 cup of chopped celery. Two medium-sized stalks equal one serving, which has 20 calories, 5 grammes of carbohydrates, 100 milligrammes of sodium, and 2 grammes of dietary fibre.
It can be difficult to follow celery recipe requirements because the terminology for celery parts varies. When a recipe calls for stalks, it usually refers to the individual ribs rather than the entire head.
